Look Closer supports clients through the full life cycle of a dispute. We assist in matters involving breach of contract, intellectual property, fraud and other irregularities. By combining open sources with discreet enquiries, we produce information that can be used in practice.

Depending on the nature of the dispute we use different tools, often in combination.

Profiling of parties and witnesses
A good outcome depends on understanding the motivations and background of key stakeholders. Our profiling helps you judge whether it is worth suing a counterparty, and strengthens the work of establishing liability or defending a claim. We also help identify witnesses and assess their suitability.

Network mapping
Insight into the relationships and links between individuals, companies and organisations often provides a decisive advantage. We bring underlying structures and hidden connections to light, whether that means a complex corporate structure or a subtle link between two people.

Asset searches
Where a dispute involves settlements or financial penalties, you need to understand the extent of the counterparty's assets. Our searches cover both tangible assets such as property and vehicles and intangible ones such as financial holdings and business interests, including those concealed offshore or within complex structures.

Our task is to give counsel the strongest possible factual basis. Nothing more, nothing less.
We take no position on the merits. We find, verify and structure information, and leave counsel to build their strategy on it.

COUNTERFEITING
The evidence that stopped the copies
A company suspected that a subcontractor was copying its products. Instructed by the client's counsel, Look Closer carried out an on-site review and secured photographs from inside the factory.
With that evidence, the company was able to sue the subcontractor and make them stop.
INDUSTRIAL ESPIONAGE
When the suspicion could be documented
A client suspected that a senior manager was passing on sensitive information. Look Closer was able to document the manager at a meeting with a competitor and so confirm the suspicion.
The client was able to take legal action quickly and limit the damage.
All examples are anonymised. Look Closer never names clients or assignments without explicit permission.
